INSTALLATION AND AUTHORIZATION INSTRUCTIONS (For Development Systems: Tutors, Visual Developer, Softbuilder, Flexsys and AutoBuilder)
- A. Downloading:
Download the zipped file (e.g., "flxmmddyyw32.exe") into any temporary directory (e.g., \temp) on your local hard drive.
- B. Installation:
1. Run the downloaded file, which is self-executing. It will install the selected system in the directory \pro on the drive (e.g., d:) you choose.
NOTE: You are strongly encouraged to install the system in a \pro\flx directory.
This is the directory we use for Scandura development systems with all supplementary data saved in other subdirectories of \pro. Installing in this directory could reduce the time required (and hence cost) for any technical support you may require.
2. When asked, choose the application (e.g., Softutor, SoftBuilder, AutoBuilder, Scan) that you ordered.
- C. Running Your system:
1. You may launch your system using the shortcut created during installation.
2. To run, enter your Customer ID you received by email and the default password "flexsys". You may change your password later under the File menu.
- D. Tutorials:
1. You are strongly encouraged to go through and study the tutorials (under Tutors on the main pulldown).
NOTE: You are encouraged to go through the tutorials at your own rate. The tutorials will introduce you to a wide variety of SoftBuilder, Flexsys and AutoBuilder capabilities. Once you feel you understand the basic concepts, you may update your license and/or extend your authorizations to include additional components. Click to update/extend authorizations. You will under normal circumstances be able to begin using the new features you order almost immediately without any further downloads. Please keep in mind, of course, that your computer must be connected to the Internet.
- E. Changing Your Password:
1. If you have registered for one of the development systems, you may change your password using the Authorizations option under File on the pull down menu.
WARNING FOR THOSE USING AN OLDER VERSION OF WINDOWS: If an earlier version of Windows 95/NT reports that ctl3d32.dll (32 bit 3D) is not available, download it. Then, you MUST move it to the SYSTEM subdirectory under WINDOWS.
